Finding Makeup Inspiration in Everyday Life

Some mornings it’s just tough to get out of bed.  The same old routine has you worn down and you just don’t feel like putting on the same outfit, doing the same makeup and heading out the door. Shopping for something new doesn’t help, eating doesn’t help and you can’t just give up and go back to bed. So what do you do?

You have to find inspiration somehow, so start looking around you.

Is it silver or gold? Antique or modern? Does it have red, blue, green stones? Use that piece as a stepping stone to your look. Decide to wear something sparkly to go with the metal of your chosen piece. Match your lips to the ruby in your ring or match your eyes to the stones in your necklace. Or contrast it – wear ultra modern colors and shapes with that vintage string of pearls. Whatever you do, remember what you love about that piece and use it to revive your look.

Or, look outside your window. See those gorgeous flowers you planted last spring? Or the hazy blue sky hanging above the building next door? Maybe the trim on the house next to you was just painted a brilliant color.airbrush makeup, makeup airbrush, at-home airbrush makeup, airbrush makeup kit, airbrush makeup system

The key to changing up your look and feeling fresh again is to find something around you that makes you think about things a little different. Even if that day’s look doesn’t turn out, at least it gets you thinking about new ways of applying your makeup.

If you are more the planning type and not really up for spontaneous make overs, then start looking in magazines or on websites for the looks that inspire you. Do you just love Jennifer Aniston’s hair, Gwen Stefani’s signature red lips or Katy Perry’s fearlessness when it comes to her appearance? Then start collecting pictures and figuring out what works for you. You might not be able to pull off the purple-gray hair that Kelly Osbourne has, but maybe that color would look good on your eyes.

The point is, don’t let your airbrush makeup rut stop you from looking your best. You can find inspiration anywhere – the color of your best friend’s eyes, the blinged-out collar on your dog, the shiny chrome fender on your car. It doesn’t matter what makes you look at things differently, as long as you are willing to try.
